COLSON CASTER CELEBRATES TWO YEARS NO LOST TIME INJURIES

Colson Caster Corporation, the world’s leading manufacturer of standard and custom application caster and wheel products, ended 2010 with another celebration of safety efforts. The manufacturing company has completed more than 389,388 hours of operation without logging any work-related lost-time injuries. All employees at the global manufacturing company were gifted with team jackets during the celebration.

“This is quite an achievement for any company but even more so for a busy engineering and manufacturing company of our size,” said Mary Hamrick, Health and Safety Specialist for Colson. “The savings in accident compensation expenses of more than 849 days easily covered the cost of the jackets for the staff.”

Colson, with almost 100 employees, has not logged any lost time injuries now since 2008. Hamrick believes that the success of Colson’s safety program lies with the employees themselves. “Our average length of service here at Colson is more than 15 years and that adds a certain pride-inperformance element for sure. We also strive to keep safety awareness in our daily workplace by starting all meetings with a safety slogan and with reports of any unsafe acts or conditions and their resolutions.”

Colson has been in business for more than 125 years, and today manufactures and globally markets more than 35,000 caster and wheel products.
